I have worked in the nonprofit sector for the last few years, raising over $600,000 for Beaverton public schools. Experience

State, Federal & Local Legislative Knowledge

Early in my career, I served as a Congressional intern in Washington, D.C., a staffer for the Ohio Democratic Party, and then as a legislative aide in the Ohio Senate for six years. Working for the ranking Democrat on the state budget committee, we advocated for issues including Medicaid expansion, gun violence prevention and gun safety measures, public education funding, smoking cessation and workforce development.

Advocacy

Budgets, Education, Transportation & Racial Justice

I have served on the Beaverton School District budget committee and on the boundary adjustment committee for the new Sato Elementary School. I testified in the Oregon legislature as a parent in support of the Student Success Act to add $1 billion in funding per year for Oregon schools and students.

In 2017, I joined the Washington County North Bethany Service District for Roads, serving alongside our county commissioners to oversee the special taxing district to develop our roads and secured allocations for safe pedestrian pathways for our children and families. I was part of the Washington County Local Investment Team for Metro’s Transportation Plan in 2019.

Community

Civics, Schools & Families

I am an active member of CPO 7 and the neighboring CPO 1, as their leadership is an invaluable resource of education and advocacy for our area. In fact, the Cedar Mill News was the most cited source in my research for my MPA! I testified on behalf of CPO 7 in the state legislative hearings for the census redistricting in favor of HD 34 community alignment and inclusion of North Bethany.
